Pipelines
IMV Projects is recognized for our experience and track-record of technical
innovations in pipeline engineering. IMV Projects recently engineered and
installed the world’s first 32” NPS steam pipeline (CSA GR 550 DSAW; 813 mm OD x
17.5 mm WT; 11 MPa @ 344°C; 8500 m long) and the industry’s first 24” NPS steam
distribution pipeline (CSA GR 550 DSAW; 610mm OD x 25.4mm WT; 17.2 MPa @ 354°C;
17000 m long). Another recent achievement for IMV Projects was the successful
design and installation of a high temperature 24” boiler feed-water pipeline,
operating at 105°C, engineered to be built and installed in-ground at 20°C yet
still accommodating its associated expansion at operating temperature without
overstressing the pipe. Based on this success, we are currently working with
vendors to install buried pipelines operating at 150°C.
Our Pipeline Engineering Group is also well-versed in pipelining in difficult
environments, including areas of close to 100% muskeg and areas with both
continuous and discontinuous permafrost. We also have extensive experience in
the installation of tight-liners and free-standing plastic and composite liners
in existing pipelines for remediation and corrosion inhibition, horizontal
directional drilling (HDD) and pipelining in mountainous terrain and
environmentally sensitive regions. IMV Projects and IMV Projects Atlantic have
also carried out onshore conceptual pipeline work and cost estimating for the
Canadian Arctic and Alaska.
